These are fried chickpeas balls which are available in different forms- it could be either eaten raw with some kind of dip, as Falafel döner (kind of burger), falafel durum (stuffed in a pita or wrapped in a flatbread), or falafel box (with a lot of veggies & other stuff in a box; salad).





This one is my favourite the list & is a must try appetizer. It is basically stuffed rice is grape leaves which is a delicious food & is healthy at the same time. It is also referred to as wrapped Sarma.

Hummus is a Levantine dip or spread made from cooked mashed chickpeas or other beans. It is blended with tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, salt and garlic. Served with a pita bread which can be spread out with the hummus & it’s a very healthy option.

Almost every tourist place has Asian or Thai restaurants. Thai Curry & Rice are mostly available in vegetarian also & it is very delicious. Thai food is mostly made from coconut milk which makes it taste unique. You should once try it for sure, I have never found anyone yet who didn’t like that Curry.

These are some easy options available at Mcdonalds, subways, burger king & all such famous food chains. Ask for a vegetarian meal & they might have it in there menu.


There are a lot of other options available like baked potatoes, Rice & beans, and more. Most restaurants have two or three items available in vegetarian options. It’s not very difficult to find vegetarian food in Europe.
